Born and raised in Iowa, Michael began performing in original rock bands during high school, which resulted in several demo recordings/albums that were released throughout the region.

After graduating HS, he traveled to L.A., where he formed the Christian Rock Band, "Savior," performing at many of the iconic clubs along the Sunset Strip, during the height of the Hollywood music scene. Upon settling in Denver, CO in the early 90's, he formed the all-original band, BODRAGAZ, which he carried the duties of Chief Songwriter, Producer, Lead Vocalist, Guitarist and Keyboardist.

 

Over the course of the next 20+ years, BODRAGAZ would release countless albums and music videos, sharing the stage with many famous artists. In 2006 opened for BON JOVI, at the Denver Pepsi Center, in front of a standing-room-only audience of over 15,000! This was followed by appearances at Rocklahoma, Colorado Rock Jam, and many more. Michael has currently been producing new BODRAGAZ material, as well as a solo release titled, "THE MICHAEL LAYER PROJECT."
